Working with Herbs in Sync with the Full Moon
The full moon is a time of expansion, visibility, and release. Energy rises to the surface—what was hidden becomes seen, and what was planted begins to bloom. Whether you feel called to celebrate, reflect, or let something go, the full moon offers a powerful mirror and an invitation to align with your truth.
When working with herbs during the full moon, the focus shifts from intention-setting to witnessing, expression, and gratitude. Again, this practice doesn’t require any specific herb—choose the one that feels aligned with your energy, your ritual, or your journey at this phase.
Here’s a gentle and flexible Full Moon Herbal Reflection Ritual to try:
Full Moon Herbal Reflection & Release Ritual
Choose Your Herb & Prepare an Infusion or Tea
Prepare your chosen herb with the same care and intention as you did at the new moon. As the water heats and the herb steeps, take a moment to acknowledge what has emerged or come to light during this cycle.Create a Sacred Space
Light a candle, sit near a window or outdoors under the moonlight, or simply pause in a quiet space. Hold your cup and take a few slow breaths. Ask yourself: What am I ready to honor? What am I ready to release?Sip & Reflect
Drink slowly, allowing each sip to be an offering to what you’ve learned or experienced. You might journal about what’s come full circle, what you’ve outgrown, or what surprised you. This is a space for gratitude and honesty.Release with the Last Sip
As you finish your tea, name aloud (or silently) what you are releasing. This could be a pattern, an emotion, an old story, or even an expectation. Offer the final drops of your infusion to the earth or the moonlight with thanks.
This ritual is about clarity, completion, and reverence. Even if you don’t feel a dramatic shift, just creating space to notice and honor the cycle is medicine in itself.
