Aries New Moon: Courage, Truth, and the Beginning of Change

The Aries New Moon on April 17, 2026 arrives at 27° of Aries, carrying the unmistakable energy of ignition.

New Moons mark beginnings, but this one is not quiet or tentative. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac — the spark of life, the moment of emergence, the willingness to exist as oneself. And at 27 degrees, this is not the innocence of early Aries. This is a more seasoned fire, a beginning informed by experience, by awareness, and by truth.

This lunation unfolds within a powerful concentration of planetary energy in both Aries and Pisces, creating a dynamic interplay between action and intuition, identity and surrender, movement and inner knowing.

At the center of this New Moon is a tight conjunction with Chiron and Eris at 26° Aries. Chiron, the wounded healer, represents the places within us that have been shaped by pain and transformed into wisdom. Eris, the disruptor, exposes what has been excluded or silenced. Together, they bring forward a clear message: this new beginning is rooted in truth. It is not about bypassing what has been difficult — it is about beginning from it.

This is a moment to ask: What truth can no longer be avoided? And from there, what is ready to begin?

Supporting this is the conjunction of Saturn and Mars in early Aries. Mars, the ruler of Aries, brings action and forward movement, while Saturn brings structure, discipline, and intention. This is not reckless fire — it is directed fire. The energy here supports building something real, taking action with clarity rather than impulse.

At the same time, Mercury conjunct Neptune in early Aries opens the mind to intuition and imagination. This pairing softens the sharpness of Aries, reminding us that not all guidance is logical. Some of it arrives quietly — through feeling, through insight, through an inner knowing that cannot be explained but can be trusted.

In the background, deeper currents continue to move. Uranus, the planet of awakening, is approaching a conjunction with Sedna — a distant body associated with the depths of the unconscious, transformation through surrender, and the surfacing of what has long been hidden. This alignment, which will become exact in late May, signals that the changes unfolding now are not only personal, but collective.

This Aries New Moon stands at the threshold of that awakening.

It invites us to begin — not from perfection, but from honesty. Not from certainty, but from alignment.

You do not need the full path.

You only need the willingness to take the first step.
