The Great Reorganization: What Eris Reveals About the Next Chapter of Humanity
There are moments in history when change arrives gradually enough that we hardly notice it, yet profound enough that we eventually realize we are living in an entirely different world than the one we once knew.
I believe we are living through one of those moments now.
Much of modern astrology focuses on the faster-moving planets because they are easier to connect with the events of everyday life. Yet some of the most meaningful transformations occur through the slowest celestial bodies—those whose movements unfold not over weeks or years, but across generations and even centuries.
One of those celestial bodies is Eris.
On July 22, 2026, Eris stations retrograde at 24°37' Aries. While stations often intensify a planet's symbolism, Eris asks us to think beyond immediate events. With an extraordinary 558-year orbit around the Sun, she moves less than two degrees during the entire year of 2026. Eris is not describing the mood of a single season; she is inviting us to consider the evolution of civilization itself.
Eris is often introduced as the Greek goddess of discord, remembered for casting the golden apple inscribed "To the Fairest" into a gathering on Mount Olympus after being excluded from a wedding celebration. The act exposed rivalries among the gods and ultimately became part of the mythic story leading to the Trojan War.
Over the years, however, I have come to understand Eris somewhat differently.
To me, Eris is not the creator of discord.
She is the revealer.
She illuminates the places where imbalance has quietly taken root. She uncovers where ego has become overleveraged, where we have become so identified with our own perspective that we lose sight of the larger whole. The discord is not her purpose; it is often the consequence of truths that can no longer remain hidden.
This perspective feels especially meaningful in 2026.
Throughout this year and well into 2027, Eris remains in a close conjunction with Chiron. Although their exact conjunction occurred on March 19, 2026, retrograde motion keeps these two archetypes in conversation for many months. Chiron invites us toward healing; Eris reveals what must first become conscious. Together they suggest that healing is rarely a single moment. More often, it is an unfolding process of seeing ourselves—and our world—with increasing honesty and compassion.
This story is also taking place within a remarkable astrological landscape. Pluto continues its journey through Aquarius. Saturn and Neptune have begun a new chapter in Aries. Uranus has entered Gemini. Chiron moves between Aries and Taurus as it revisits unfinished work before continuing forward.
Rather than viewing these transits as isolated events, I find it more meaningful to understand them as parts of a much larger symphony. Together, they describe what I have come to think of as The Great Reorganization—a gradual reorientation of consciousness, culture, and our relationship with one another and with the living Earth.
As a farmer and herbalist, I often find that the natural world offers language for understanding these long cycles.
Healthy forests do not thrive because one species dominates. They flourish through relationship. Ancient trees share resources through mycorrhizal networks beneath the soil. Rivers reshape landscapes through patience rather than force. Meadows reveal their beauty through diversity and balance.
Nature continually reminds us that resilience emerges through relationship, not control.
Perhaps that is one of Eris's deepest invitations.
Not to eliminate the ego, but to restore it to its proper place within a much larger living system.
This is why I believe astrology and herbalism belong together.
Astrology helps us understand the season we are living through.
Herbalism helps us embody that season with greater presence and resilience.
The heavens reveal the larger cycles.
The plants teach us how to walk through them.
In this episode of Everything is Energy, I explore the mythology of Eris, her extraordinary astronomical cycle, her continuing conjunction with Chiron, and why I believe this moment represents far more than a single retrograde. I also share a simple Herbal Almanac featuring Tulsi and Milky Oats, followed by a guided meditation designed to help us return to right relationship—with ourselves, with nature, and with the larger unfolding of life.
My hope is that this conversation offers something deeper than prediction.
I hope it offers perspective.
Because when we begin to recognize the long rhythms of history, we often discover that what feels like chaos from up close may, from a wider view, be part of a much larger process of becoming.
Thank you for being here, and for continuing to explore these remarkable cycles with me.
Love and Blessings,
Lisa Marie
