Aries Full Moon: What Is Being Revealed

The Aries Full Moon arrives on September 26 at 9:49 a.m. Pacific, with the Moon at 3° Aries opposing the Sun at 3° Libra. I've been thinking about this Full Moon as a moment of revelation, particularly following the Virgo New Moon and its invitation to consider not only what needs to change, but whether we are being asked to change the way we change.

Perhaps this Full Moon helps us understand why.

The Moon is tightly conjunct Neptune in Aries, bringing an unusual sensitivity to what is already an illuminating moment. Full Moons tend to bring things into view, but Neptune doesn't always reveal through facts or certainty. Sometimes something becomes visible because an illusion begins to dissolve. We recognize a projection, understand an old emotional pattern differently, or realize that an identity we've been carrying no longer completely describes who we are becoming.

All of this unfolds across the Aries-Libra axis, bringing the relationship between self and other into focus. How do we remain true to ourselves while participating in relationships, communities and larger collective systems? Where is compromise necessary, and where have we compromised so much that we can no longer hear ourselves clearly? These questions feel particularly relevant now, both personally and collectively.

This is an unusually interconnected Full Moon chart. Along with the Sun-Moon opposition, we have a minor triangle, a grand trine, two T-squares, a mystic rectangle and a larger kite formation. Pluto in Aquarius, Uranus conjunct Sedna in Gemini, and Neptune conjunct the Moon in Aries continue the outer-planet conversation I've been following throughout this year, but the Full Moon brings these larger changes into our emotional experience.

There is considerable tension in the chart as well. Mars at the final degree of Cancer, conjunct the fixed star Procyon, opposes Pluto in Aquarius and becomes part of the two T-squares. Venus in Scorpio brings questions of relationship, intimacy, values and power into one focal point, while Mercury in Libra, aligned with Arcturus and Spica, brings us back to communication, perspective, justice and what we are learning from this particular moment in time.

Yet what I find most compelling about this chart is that the tension is surrounded by so much harmonious geometry. The mystic rectangle and kite don't eliminate the oppositions; instead, they give that energy somewhere to move. Perhaps that is part of the revelation too. We don't necessarily resolve tension by eliminating one side of it. Sometimes the tension itself contains information, and our work is to become conscious enough to understand what it is showing us.

The Virgo New Moon asked us to consider how we change. This Aries Full Moon may illuminate why some of those changes have become necessary. Something may become clearer now about who we are, how we relate to others, what we are protecting, what we value, or what we are finally ready to see differently.

Not every revelation arrives as an answer. Sometimes revelation is simply the moment when we can finally see the question clearly.
