Taurus Full Moon: What Must Change for Something New to Emerge

October 25, 2026 | Full Moon in Taurus | Security, Transformation, and Regeneration

The Taurus Full Moon arrives on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 9:11 p.m. Pacific time, with the Moon at approximately 2° Taurus opposite the Sun at 2° Scorpio. This is a particularly interesting Full Moon, with two significant astrological configurations bringing our attention to the relationship between stability and transformation. A powerful T-square involving the Sun, Moon, and Pluto in Aquarius creates tension around security, attachment, and the structures we depend upon, while a Yod involving Uranus, Neptune, and the Sun–Haumea conjunction suggests that a deeper adjustment in our understanding may be necessary for something new to emerge.

With both Mercury and Venus retrograde, there is also a strong invitation to reconsider our values, relationships, and the assumptions through which we understand our experiences. As I've been studying this chart, one question continues to stand out: What must change for something new to emerge?

The Taurus–Scorpio Full Moon: Security and Transformation

The Moon is traditionally exalted in Taurus, an Earth sign associated with nourishment, stability, resources, and our relationship with the physical world. Taurus understands that meaningful things take time to grow and that there is tremendous value in tending carefully to what sustains us. Across the zodiac, the Sun in Scorpio brings our attention to transformation, intimacy, attachment, and the cycles of death and renewal that are part of all living systems.

These are not necessarily opposing philosophies. We need stability, but we also need the capacity to change. We need to recognize what is worth preserving while remaining willing to acknowledge when our attachment to something familiar may be preventing new growth. This Full Moon invites us to consider the difference between genuine security and the desire to keep things as they are, because those are not always the same thing.

The Pluto T-Square: Pressure, Power, and Our Commitments

One of the most significant configurations in this chart is the T-square involving the Moon in Taurus, the Sun in Scorpio, and Pluto at approximately 3° Aquarius. Venus retrograde at the final degree of Libra is also closely involved, while Pluto is conjunct Juno at the beginning of Aquarius.

A T-square brings competing energies into a point of tension, and here Pluto occupies that focal position. Associated with power, control, exposure, and transformation, Pluto in Aquarius encourages us to examine the larger structures of community, technology, institutions, and collective organization. What happens when the systems we have depended upon for security begin to change? And what happens when we recognize that an arrangement which once provided stability may now be limiting our capacity to grow?

Juno adds another meaningful dimension. In Roman mythology, Juno was the queen of the gods, associated with marriage, sovereignty, protection, and the welfare of the state. In contemporary astrology, she is frequently associated with commitment, partnership, and mutual obligation. Her conjunction with Pluto invites us to consider the power dynamics within our relationships and agreements. A commitment can be longstanding without necessarily remaining reciprocal, and sometimes the most meaningful way to honor a relationship is to become willing to reconsider how it functions.

Venus and Mercury Retrograde: Revisiting What Matters

Venus is particularly important because she rules Taurus, the sign of this Full Moon. Having stationed retrograde in Scorpio earlier this month, Venus has returned to Libra, bringing renewed attention to fairness, reciprocity, beauty, relationships, and personal values. Her involvement in the Pluto T-square suggests that we may need to look beneath the surface of our attachments and consider whether what we are preserving still reflects what we genuinely value.

Mercury also stations retrograde in Scorpio on October 24, just one day before the Full Moon. With both Mercury and Venus retrograde, we are invited to reconsider not only what we value, but how we came to value it. Mercury in Scorpio encourages deeper investigation, perhaps through revisiting conversations, examining old assumptions, or recognizing that a story we've carried for years no longer reflects our present understanding. Retrogrades are not necessarily about moving backward; sometimes they allow us to recover something important before moving forward with greater clarity.

Haumea and the Yod: The Possibility of Regeneration

One of the most compelling features of this Full Moon is the Sun's conjunction with Haumea, the dwarf planet named for the Hawaiian goddess associated with fertility, childbirth, regeneration, and the generative powers of the Earth. In contemporary astrology, Haumea is often interpreted through themes of renewal and the emergence of new life. Her presence within the Pluto T-square reminds us that transformation is not simply about what must end, but also about what may become possible through that process.

This theme is reinforced by the Yod, sometimes called the Finger of God. Formed by a sextile at its base and two quincunx aspects converging toward an apex, a Yod is often interpreted as a configuration requiring adjustment or a change in perspective. Here, Uranus conjunct Sedna and Priapus in Gemini forms a sextile with Neptune in Aries, with the apex directed toward the Sun and Haumea in Scorpio.

Uranus in Gemini brings themes of innovation, communication, and changing patterns of thought. Sedna, named for a powerful figure from Inuit traditions associated with the sea and marine animals, adds themes of betrayal, survival, and our relationship with the natural world. Priapus, associated in Greek mythology with fertility and vegetation, introduces another dimension of instinct and desire. Together, these energies invite us to reconsider the stories we tell and the ways we seek understanding.

Neptune in Aries adds imagination, inspiration, and the possibility of envisioning a different future. Yet information alone does not create wisdom, and imagination alone does not create transformation. With the Yod pointing toward the Sun and Haumea in Scorpio, we are invited to consider what happens when new understanding begins to change the way we actually live.

Chiron, Eris, and the Possibility of Healing

The Moon in early Taurus is also connected with Chiron and Eris in the final degrees of Aries, bringing themes of identity, belonging, and emotional security into the larger conversation. Chiron, associated with the wounded healer, invites us to consider how our experiences can deepen our understanding of ourselves and others. Eris, the Greek goddess of strife and discord, brings questions of exclusion, recognition, and the consequences of perceived injustice.

Jupiter in Leo forms a supportive trine to Chiron in Aries, suggesting that a broader perspective, generosity, and greater self-understanding may support the healing process. Jupiter also sextiles Venus retrograde in Libra, offering opportunities for goodwill and renewed appreciation within our relationships. Meanwhile, Saturn in Aries trine Mars in Leo reminds us that meaningful transformation requires not only insight, but also patience, responsibility, and constructive action.

The Deeper Invitation: Creating a Stability That Can Grow

When we bring the T-square and Yod together, a larger story begins to emerge. The T-square creates pressure around the structures and attachments through which we have established security, while the Yod invites us to reconsider our understanding and adjust the ways we respond. Mercury and Venus retrograde encourage reflection, and Haumea reminds us that something new may emerge through the process of transformation.

There is an important distinction between change and transformation. We can change our external circumstances without changing the underlying patterns that created them. We can enter a new relationship while recreating the same dynamics, or replace one structure with another while preserving the same assumptions about power and responsibility. Genuine transformation asks us to examine those foundations and become more conscious of the values guiding our choices.

Perhaps this Full Moon is inviting us to develop a different understanding of stability—not as the ability to keep everything exactly as it is, but as the capacity to remain rooted in what matters while allowing life to evolve.

Full Moon Meditation: Held by the Earth

I close this podcast with a guided meditation called Held by the Earth, inspired by the grounding, nourishing qualities of Taurus. Together, we step outside beneath the Full Moon, barefoot upon the Earth, surrounded by the quiet beauty of the natural world. We feel the cool grass beneath our feet, the gentle night air against our skin, and the soft illumination of the Moon above us.

There is nothing we need to solve, nothing we need to change, and nothing we need to become. For a few moments, we are invited to experience the healing that comes through presence, embodiment, and our connection with the living Earth.

As we move through this Full Moon, I invite you to consider what is genuinely sustaining you, what you may be holding onto simply because it is familiar, and what might become possible if you allowed yourself to imagine a different way forward. The natural world reminds us that stability and transformation are not opposites. Trees grow, seasons turn, leaves fall, and soil is renewed. What endures is not necessarily what remains unchanged. Sometimes what endures is what has learned how to grow.
